MAXIMUM HOURLY SNOWFALL RATES WILL BE 1 INCH PER HOUR IN NARROW BANDS. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 5 INCHES ARE LIKELY.

AS THE LOW GETS CLOSER TO THE REGION… WARM AIR ALOFT WILL MOVE RAPIDLY NORTH AND CHANGE THE SNOW TO RAIN. A BRIEF PERIOD OF FREEZING RAIN OR SLEET IS LIKELY WITH ICE ACCUMULATIONS LESS THAN ONE TENTH OF AN INCH. THIS TRANSITION WILL OCCUR BY 11 AM WEDNESDAY MORNING.

The weather today in Jersey City started with plenty of sunshine. However, it is very cold again, similar to yesterday's weather, only colder.

Temperature is in the high teens, and will continue to drop as the day progresses. Tonight, the temperature will be dropping to low-teens and probably as low as 12 degrees Fahrenheit according to weather forecast.

The weather forecast says to expect a sunny day today with temperature in the low-30's. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph.

Tonight, it will be partly cloudy early with increasing clouds overnight. Low 24F. Winds light and variable.

The wintry mix will turn into rainfall as the day progresses, so it will be wet through out the day. Generally, the weather will be cloudy with periods of rain. High 39F. NE winds at 15 to 25 mph, diminishing to 5 to 10 mph. Rainfall may reach one inch.

Forecast for this evening shows rain showers with overcast skies overnight. Low 33F. Winds WSW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

A combination of snow, sleet and freezing rain will bother areas from the Middle Atlantic region to New York and New England. Most East Coast cites will see mainly rain from this event. Sleet and freezing rain will spread northeastward from western Pennsylvania up into Southern New England by morning. A combination of snow, sleet and freezing rain will prevail across central and eastern New York into the center of New England. For the weekend (January 4-5, 2008), Jersey City was particulary mild. Yesterday (January 4), the weather was sunny, with temperature hovered around mid-30's. A little wind made the day colder, but it was a gorgeous day in general.

Today was almost the same: the temperature was steady at 37 degrees Fahrenheit with cloudy skies.

For a winter season, this weekend was warmer than last week.

The weather forecast for today in Jersey City is cloudy -- Variable clouds with snow showers or flurries. High 36F. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 50%.. It is also expected that the few flurries will fall sometime around 11 AM to noon, so watch out if you are going out.

The weather temperature will remain steady at mid-30's, but it will drop to low-30's as the day progresses. Although the temperature read 30's, the weather feels like we are in the low 20's.

Today's weather in Jersey City is not as cold as yesterday because the cold wind from yesterday has gone. The sun is out there shining in the blue skies, but the weather temperature is still cold.

The temperature is steady at mid-20's -- around 24 degrees Fahrenheit to 26. It warmer than yesterday, but there's a very minimal wind blow so expect coldness when you go out.

Other than that, the weather looks gorgeous this new year.
